My brothers in blood, please calm down… Mahatma Gandhi had his own way of fighting for freedom and so did Subhash Chandra Bose. They must have agreed and disagreed with each other on many things. But at the end of day, their motive was the same “Justice and Freedom”.
We might have our differences, our opinions and ways of doing things, but we need to understand that our motive is the same. We should stop bickering with each other and concentrate on the main goal. We should keep encouraging our members to join hands and unite and fight for the cause.
Though you might not agree with each other, you still need to see how severely the issue must have affected the other person which is why they are here and ready to fight.
Please pull your (s)words to fight the injustice rather than fight with each other.

I tried my best to attend the DC Rally, but sorry to say that I'm missing a great event. I'm trying to make it up by contributing a very small amount to DC Rally.($ 200 - Google Order #703505280174212 ).

My point - I am going to take things in a stride, basically wait till I can - doesn't hurt me as long as I go about my daily routine.
All who are thinking of jumping the fence and giving up, one piece of advice - if you do not have kids and plan to have any in this life, please do it NOW - have them be born here (all of them) and then move on with whatever / wherever you want to go.
At least this is a gift you will be giving your kids for their lifetime and all the generations following them (remember - a US citizen's kid can be a US citizen no matter where he/she is born) - so you will be arranging US citizenship for all your great^n * grand * kids (0 <= n <= infinity) !
This is how I think about it when I do not think about MYSELF. Once the kids are born, you can flaunt their American Passports and feel happy in their well-being and security (for whatever it is worth) and move on to Canada / India / Singapore / wherever! Live happily.
And do not forget your kids can sponsor you when they are 21.

All is not lost however, there is still a chance for the amendment to be offered in one of the forthcoming budget bills, including a likely omnibus at years end.

First of all i want to say is nixstor cool down, you dont have to use bad words to say anything, even though you spell wrong people can read it right.
The whole name check system itself not working properly, everybody knows it, there are criminals who got clearance and there are innocents stuck for years, so its a chance to make FBI think about their system.
Yeah, tell me the same thing when all of us will wait for 6 or 7 years if they dont fix the system and continue to do security check on us. We know that we are NOT bad people. Its difficult to prove that in existing conditions. People are paranoid about every thing right now.

You people seem to be too nationalistic. Even with the comments about quotas. Affiirmative action with 52% of all seats being reserved based on caste? You call this fair?
I dont think anyone is arguing that american schools are not good enough.......they certainly are - specially with the kind of tuition fees people pay to get into these schools. Besides - people coming here for education does not necessarily mean its better - lot of people come here for the international exposure - lot of good students from around the world do indeed congregate here for education - combination of good schools, openness, english as common language....all these have contributed to the historical greatness of america - does not make your motherland any worse!
Look at quotas as a way to bring in factors other than just your score in a standardized examination.......in India that factor might be caste - here it might be affirmative action in favor of some sections of society and other subjective factors like essays, letters recommendation, the fact that you were a cheerleader in high school etc.....look, i am not saying quotas is a great system - but all i am saying is that there are shortcomings in selection systems in schools around the world not just India.

Received an email from CRIS yesterday. They have issued a FRE on my I-485. I can not think of anything. My immigration history is clean, no status issues, ever. I remember submitting all the docs during July fiasco. I am waiting for the actual RFE letter to arrive.
Only good part is - there is someone "OUT THERE" who looked at my file.

A green card application requires enormous amount of efforts and money from the beneficiary and his/her employer. People who are waiting for 7-8 years now would have had already spent average $15,000-$20,000, in maintaining their statuses and keep the Green Card process going on. Being stuck in a green card process keeps us bonded with 1 employer, job type etc.
We need to know if there is any light at the end of the tunnel. We need to know for how long we have to live our life in limbo. If there is hope than we need to be patient and plan to live like that for another 1-2 years. But if there�s no light at the end of the tunnel than we need to move on with our careers and other family commitments. Only your office and USCIS can help us by releasing statistics on the number and categories of applications pending with USCIS people waiting in this category can plan their lives accordingly.
It will be a great help if DOS or USCIS could tell us about the number of AOS application pending at USCIS along with their Categories(EB-3, EB-2, EB-1) and chargeable country.
We have been waiting for a decade and continue to wait would it be reasonable to request you for some guidance with regards to the Visa allotment. I request your office to provide some statistics on home many Adjustment of Status applications are pending at USCIS.
