I applied for I485 like many others in July. I just heard my group may be spun off from its parent company and might be funded by VCs. Does this mean I cannot use my LC/I140? If/When I get my EAD will it be valid?

No big deal....It does not affect you as long as your job is still same. The new company will take over your labour and I140 and you should be fine

Your PD must be current and 485 filing date (which is also called RD - received date) should be close to USCIS processing times. Currently, I believe that USCIS is working on applications that it received in July 2007.
But it is USCIS :D - miracles happen!!! Last year, they approved 2006 PD cases while applicants with 2003/2004/2005 were waiting :D Good luck.

My company is filing 140 and 485 on a preapproved LC (PD of 2005)
But my original LC in P-BEC just got cleared (PD of 2003). They told that they will also use my original LC for 140 as this gives better chance than the substituted one.
1)How Can I have 2 140's ?
3)How will it effect 485?
I'm confused ..please answer

Is it true that if you are on H4 visa and you are using Ead ...and your I-485 is denied...this invalidates your H4 status and you have to leave U.S?
I know that this situation applies only for H1B holder, not H4, the dependent.
If I'm out of H4 status...what are my options? How can I go back to H4 status?
Please advice....this is vey important for me.

I found some information that I believe could be beneficial in knowing the status of the pending I-140 case (also for I-485)
This is called TSC Streamline procedure and a url link is given below.
Based on that, AILA attorneys can send an email notice about the pending I-140 info. It seems like the application should have been filed prior to the processing date that shows up for I-140 for TSC. It looks like there is no 30 day window imposed as in the case of Service Requests.
This email is supposed to inform USCIS about our pending I-140!

1. Transcripts/Marksheets
2. Experience/Relieving Letters
3. Tax Returns
4. Bank Statements for 6 months
I am asking this because i dont have these documents with me right now and I want to apply for a Change of Status immediately. I know that the above are all required to file for a F1 visa

My biometrics appointment is scheduled at ATL ASC on the 19th of this month which is a Saturday. Has anyone on this forum visited ATL ASC for any work on a Saturday? Should I call up the USCIS customer service to reschedule my appointment? Or, do I need to be happily surprised to see my the USCIS working hard for me even on a weekend? ( The later part sounds like a 'Bizzaro World' from Seinfeld )

Perhaps there is a chance we'll see some action on the DREAM Act in 2011 albeit with some major tough to accept changes. The key areas likely to change are the education requirement (mandating actually receiving a degree versus simply attending school), the ability to sponsor relatives down the road when DREAM Act finally become citizens (at least 13 years out) and criminal bars on applying.

Opponents of Arizona's SB1070 immigration law scored another victory in the courts yesterday. In the case of Friendly House v. Whiting, the court overruled a motion to dismiss the case challenging the law. The judge noted that "Racial discrimination was a motivating factor for [S.B.] 1070�s enactment" which establishes a legitimate constitutional challenge to the law. We filed two different I485s. One me as Primary, for which I have not received any receipt which reached on July 17th. Another from my husbands employer, me as beneficiary which reached on Aug 13th. We got receipt and FP Notice for one which was applied through my husband's employer. Confusion is that in my receipt notice the Alien Number is different from what I received on my I140 Approval Notice. Is it of any concern? Finally will my husband be able to get EAD from my application?
Appreciate any views or opinions!
