Dallas-Fort Worth Immigration Lawyer Has Just Posted the Following:
Beginning March 1, 2010, Mexico will require U.S. citizens to have valid passports when traveling to Mexico. Legal residents of the U.S. must have their green cards or other documents demonstrating legal status in the U.S.
This new rule by Mexican authorities shouldn't change travel habits, because it has been the law in the U.S. since June 2009 that U.S. travelers returning to this country from Mexico must show their passports.

A Department of Homeland Security Office of Inspector General report has been released which paints a very troubling picture of the 287(g) program which allows local and state law enforcement agencies to enforce immigration laws. I just received an 3 year h1-B extension based on an approved I-140. I had only 2 years left of 6 year h1 limit but because I have an approved I-140, I got one more year.
I attached my approved I-140 copies along with H1B extension application but the Alien number A# on this new H1-B extension approval is different than what I have on I-140 approval notice. Actually its a typo, instead of A 08 it A 008 and because of one extra zero the last digit is lost.
Is this a matter of concern? Please help.

Hi, My name is Alex and I am a Permanent Resident for 4 years. I got married but my wife just have a turist visa B-1. So, I already applyed for her filling I-130. What is the next step? Just wait or can i fill out I-765 because she needs to work?... One more question...She still have I-94 valid for 6 months, does she need to go back to Brazil?

My attorney sent my I-485 at Nebraska center because my I-140 was pending at Nebraska but according to question # 38 on FAQ-3, it should have gone to TX based on June 22, 2007 direct filing directives. Should I file again at Texas center?

Can we file PERM with a photocopy of Passport that is about to expire in 3 months.
Is it advisable to get passport renewed and then file it or it doesn't matter? My lawyer has asked me to submit copy of my passport along with other document that will go with the PERM application. Just wondering if my lawyer files PERM after expiration date (mentioned in the passport copy) has passed (due to delay in paperwork etc). Or what if lawyer files before expiration date but case is reviewed by DOL/USCIS after expiration date is passed?
Off course, I will apply for a renewal of passport, but just wondering what would happen in the above scenario?

Hi,
My I-485 was filed in June'2007 in Nebraska service centre since my company is based in Michigan. I live in PA.
I am filing my EAD now but according to the latest instructions for EAD, the filing centre should be decided based on where you live. So for PA, the filing centre listed is Texas.
My question is should I file in Texas based on where I live or in Nebraska where my I-485 case was filed. The USCIS case tracker also says that my case is at Nebraska.

EB-485 processing times in NSC is FOUR (4) Months for the visa number available cases, and also pending EB-485 cases whose visa numbers are current and ready to adjudicate . So does this mean that cases with PD's not current but ready to adjudicate will get their I-485 approved by 6 months . Can some one please break it down for me .

Hi,
My employer filed H1B transfer in Feb 2009. however he could not receive RFE letter with in time on mail and only received after RFE submitted date was expired which is May 25th, 2009
In jun1 1st week , he filed for the RFE extension for the stated reason and also refiled H1B to make sure that I should be in valid H1B status in case of first H1B denial in mean time
Employer submitted all the documents related to RFE on June 20th and it got approved on jul 1st.
What are the best options for H1B refiling case
in case if it is denied, will it super impose the original H1B approval ?
is it good idea to cancel/revoke pending H1B refiling case ?

Hello All,
I am on H1 Right now and through the same employer i filed my GC in May 2007 (I-140 approved in Oct' 2007)
but I have got an offer from another company who is willing to transfer my H1, so wanted to know what is the best options.
- Should i Switch on H1 and if yes, can i start working for them before the H1 Transfer process is complete
- If I did decide to go on H1 then do i need to file some documents for my I-485 and EAD Renewal as well (meaning do i have to inform USCIS about my change in employer for GC application)
