    My I-140 & I-485 applications had been transferred to VSC for receipting and later my I-485 was transferred back to TSC. But my I-40 has been pending at VSC for close to 6 months with no signs of any processing. VSC seems to be still processing Apr 06 applications while TSC has been processing I-140 under 6 months. Realistically my application should have stayed at TSC, but was transferred to VSC due to receipting delays and balance the workload. But now my application is stuck at VSC. For no fault of mine, my applications ended up in VSC. There is no signs of PP starting anytime soon. Can I lodge a complain to ombudsman in this regard? Will they be able to help me? Who do I contact and where can I find all the information to lodge a complaint?

    Hi All,

    My OPT expires on March 20th 2012. According to USCIS rules, I am on valid F-1 status 2 months after OPT expiration. "nonimmigrant F�1 students on post-completion OPT maintain valid F�1 status until the expiration of the OPT period and the subsequent 60-day departure preparation period".

    Is it possible for me to take advantage to cap-gap after expiration of OPT as I will still be on valid status? Can I quit work for 10 days after my OPT expiration and start working again on April 1st after a employer files my H-1?

    Please advise.

    I'm looking to travel to Puerto Rico for a few days in July for my honeymoon but both my green card and passport have both expired. I have been in the US since 1988 and don't travel aboard very often so I overlooked this issue.
    I have been told that I can travel to Puerto Rico with just a valid driver's license but don't want to take a chance of having them ask me for my passport and green card and then not being allowed back in the country. I would think that if they ask me if I'm a resident alien, they woudl want to see a non expired green card. I assume it is too late to go through the renewal process for both with just a few weeks left before my trip. I would love to know if I need to go through the renewal process for my passport, green card or both in order to fly to Puerto Rico or if I should just stick to US states.

    Click on Change of Address, on the left nav menu, Do this only if you have Receipt numbers, first it asks you to fill Electronic AR-11 for DOS then updates address on USCIS System.

    I am happy to report that the USCIS has approved the P-1B visa application that I filed on behalf of Superman is Dead (http://www.supermanisdead.net/), an Indonesian band, that will be appearing on Warped Tour �09 (http://www.warpedtour.com/warpedtour/index.asp).

    Folks,
    I have a situation where I need to dump my emp after working for almost 6 years as I am getting new opportunity which requires emp to pay me on 1099(instead of W2). Can it be possible and also can I avoid opening LLC. Also, not sure if in the near future if I get a RFE how that would go with current situation

    If I were you, I would definitely call them or take an infopass to be aware of the current status. That way you can have a chance to know if there is something wrong and you can address that immediately.

    Do note that AILF does cover people who were eligible to file in July but did not file due to USCIS/DOS revised bulletin.....However, it is unknown at this time what the outcome of the lawsuit would be for July applicants vs eligible but non-applicants as the decision is at the discretion of the Judge.....

    IMHO, its better to file and get rejected......
